Color Trends

Many brides will change their wedding colors at least twice. This is her special day and she wants it to make a statement. Today's brides are thinking outside of the box and experimenting with more nontraditional colors. Also, brides are now describing their wedding colors as sets of three or more colors and not letting the season restrict their color decisions. Long gone are black and white weddings. Don't be afraid to experiment with unusual color schemes and place them anywhere you desire during your celebration. Here are some unique suggestions for the 2009-2010 wedding season:
Heather Gray/Pewter and Mustard/Marigold
Gray is the new neutral. It goes well with any jewel tone color and pastels.  You can use a lighter gray and yellow as accents. Check out David's Bridal Pewter & Saffron or Bari Jay's Mustard & Shadow or Watters Stone or Jim Hjelm Silver colors and Dessy Marigold.
Truffle, Violet and Lilac
You can use various shades of purple with truffle as the canvas. You can incorporate lavender, mauve, magenta, raspberry and rose pink. Check out Bari Jay's Mink or Watters Brunette and Alfred Angelo's Violet colors.
Avocado, Pear and Raspberry
This is a variation of the popular pink and green weddings. I've noticed that more celebrities are wearing avocado colored dresses this year. Check out Nicole Miller's Fern color or Watters Avocado.
Butterscotch, Seafoam Green/Jade and Coral/Salmon, Champagne
This is my variation of a Lilies & Lilacs bride's color scheme. Her colors were pecan, aqua, coral and lime. I saw this color combination in a tie paired with a champagne suit.. Check out Bari Jay's Cocoa or After Six Butterscotch and Jim Hjelm Jade Colors.
Dove Gray/Silver, Mango and Apricot
Once again gray goes with everything! I saw this color scheme in a real wedding and loved it. Check out David's Bridal Silver and Persimmon colors.
Slate Blue, Baby Blue and Cherry Red
Red does not have to be paired with black and white all the time. Bari Jay's New Blue and Misty Blue or Watters Slate Blue or Wtoo Venetian Blue.
Navy Blue, Plum, and Magenta
These are very rich and regal colors together. Check out David's Bridal Marine and Sangria or Jim Hjelm Ink colors.
Tandoori, Terracotta, and Almond
These colors are great for a fall wedding. You can even add gold as an accent color. Check out Watters Tandoori or Dessy Cinnamon colors.
